This private commission was a true joy to work on. Having been given a budget and free reign on choice of fabrics, I was able to be creative and make a garment that was truly my style. The ‘Village Dress’ is a popular cosplay due to the shorter skirt and lighter layers making it easier to move around in – I chose to add my own stamp on this iconic outfit by using a heavily embroidered blue lace fabric on the sweeping skirt that flares with every twirl, a comfortable, lightweight textured cotton for the blouse, and a sturdy cotton velvet for the corset which is lightly boned to keep the shape but still allow ease of movement.
"Crafted beautifully with faith, trust and pixie dust, my first custom made dress by Ceri was Ariel’s village dress from The Little Mermaid! it’s incredibly screen accurate for a dress that has come straight out of a cartoon. It’s comfortable and I’ve had some wonderful feedback at Comic Con. Ceri puts endless effort and time into her work. I love that she always kept me updated with pictures of the progress which shows how much she values her customers and their thoughts. I trust Ceri wholeheartedly when making costumes and I can’t wait to see what else she does! My Belle dress was a surprise present from my Grandad who got in touch with Ceri secretly. Like my Ariel dress, Belle’s gown is very comfortable considering the bodice is deemed to be tight. I wore this at Comic Con in October and I was still kept warm! I have also worn this to a Christmas Party in 2019 where I attended for the children’s entertainment. I love my Princess dresses and can’t wait to bug Ceri to make me more."
