Velveteena Leigh

I found Ceri’s website as a result of a very lucky Google search as I was trying to find reference pictures for what I had in mind for my wedding dress. I was after a renaissance era Snow White dress and came across one that Ceri had made so popped her a quick email to see if it was something she’d be willing to do.

First off we had a zoom chat to get to know one another a bit as well as brainstorm ideas and give Ceri an idea of budget and deadline (this was quite early in the wedding planning process so plenty of time!)

Next stage she sent me some pictures of fabrics she’d found for me to sign off on as well as drawings she’d made of what we’d hashed out in our zoom call so I was kept up to date on progress and make any amendments as they came up/I thought of them.

We also worked out a nice payment plan so I was able to pay off the dress in instalments, which made the whole process a lot easier to manage and I was very grateful to Ceri for that! She was also very flexible in terms of costs, such as offering cheaper fabrics and ultimately wanted to make sure I had the dress I wanted for the price I was comfortable paying.

Dress fittings were also fun – seeing Ceri’s workshop and other projects she was working on (a gorgeous Belle dress and something made out of cheese fabric) was fun and it meant that the dress fit perfectly on the day. She was also on hand to answer such pressing questions as “so how do I sit down in this thing?”

Ceri also provided much needed assembly instructions as the dress had a LOT of layers so I brought one of my bridesmaids with me to one of the fittings and we took lots of photos for assembly instructions – proved very valuable on the day!!

Ceri was also available and ready to help with last minute sleeve stuffing (yes, you read that correctly) so the dress looked perfect on the day.

So grateful to Ceri for really pulling the stops out to make sure I looked and felt amazing on my wedding day! Thank you Ceri! <3

I commissioned from Velveteena Leigh a coat for my cosplay and they more than exceeded expectations. I have worked With Ceri many times. She has created 2 amazing bespoke outfits perfectly tailored for me. One was an amazing Saber Cosplay and the other an Elsa inspired evening gown. I have already requested a 3rd outfit when she has the time 🙂 She is friendly and professional and willing to listen and offer ideas to improve the design you want. Her Lingerie is also amazing I Love wearing the Harley Quinn bralette and harem pants.

It was my first time commissioning Ceri and they were absolutely wonderful! They were very patient with answering all my questions and organised a mood board with all the materials that may have suited the mood/theme I was looking for. Ceri is an expert in her craft. This was my first costuming commission, and Ceri walked me through the entire process, from measurements, to patterning, to shipping, removing the biggest stresses I've had easily. I've been proudly wearing my coat in anticipation for the next big con I'll be attending. I would recommend Ceri to any cosplayer looking to step up their game!

This Elizabeth Swann dress is pure perfection. Ceri's work is exceptional. Its film accurate and I'm in love. I highly recommend her!! I will definitely be coming back for more dresses. If you want high quality work and amazing communication in between getting it made to finish, this is where to come. Best costume I've ever got!

Crafted beautifully with faith, trust and pixie dust, my first custom made dress by Ceri was Ariel’s village dress from The Little Mermaid! it’s incredibly screen accurate for a dress that has come straight out of a cartoon. It’s comfortable and I’ve had some wonderful feedback at Comic Con. Ceri puts endless effort and time into her work. I love that she always kept me updated with pictures of the progress which shows how much she values her customers and their thoughts. I trust Ceri wholeheartedly when making costumes and I can’t wait to see what else she does! My Belle dress was a surprise present from my Grandad who got in touch with Ceri secretly. Like my Ariel dress, Belle’s gown is very comfortable considering the bodice is deemed to be tight. I wore this at Comic Con in October and I was still kept warm! I have also worn this to a Christmas Party in 2019 where I attended for the children’s entertainment. I love my Princess dresses and can’t wait to bug Ceri to make me more.
