Gentleman Loki

One of my good friends, Ryan from Beanie Cosplays, kindly agreed to model my latest passion project - an 18th Century inspired Gentleman Loki.

Ryan also 3d printed and painted the crown and staff, and has put up with a lot of practicing how to stand correctly and allowing us to wax his legs so he can wear stockings - I am so lucky to have friends who put up with my ideas...

I wanted this costume to look relatively simple from afar, but keep my signature elements of textured fabric and small details. I chose a beautifully textured green fabric with hints of gold for the jacket, and a stunning deep green and bronze brocade satin for the waistcoat and breeches. I then spent hours searching for buttons that match the bronze floral details of the waistcoat fabric, and also have a slightly Nordic feel to the design; and finding a brooch for the cravat that evokes the snake-like feeling of Jörmungandr, said to be one of the children of Loki and Angrboða. I also had Ryan's partner, Laura from BadPandaPhotography, 3D model some large shoe buckles with Nordic patterns which Ryan then printed.

All in all, I'm so pleased with the overall costume and how it turned into a collaborative project between myself and some of my closest friends who keep me inspired every day.
I will be adding this costume to my stock rotation available to rent for photoshoots and events, head to the contact page to enquire further. Photos by Beth Lees Photography
