Belle Village Dress

One of Velveteena Leigh's many repeat customers, Rae commissioned a custom cosplay inspired by Belle's blue village dress from Beauty and the Beast. Having worked with Rae before, she was comfortable allowing Ceri full creative freedom to take the cosplay in any direction she chose, which led to this deceptively 'simple' cosplay. Pulling inspiration from the 18th Century, the era the film is based on, they went for a simple silhouette with a corseted bodice and the shirt has a 'fichu' style collar to tie in the shapes of the era. The skirt has hand stitched horse-hair braid (not real horse hair!) to give it an extra bounce without the need for a petticoat, and the apron piece features subtle hand embroidered stitching.
