This costume is based upon the story of the Wolf Man from the Native American Blackfoot tribe, based in North America/Southern Canada. After creating 4 separate designs of the main character in each stage of the story, I decided to create the design representing a Native American Medicine Man/Story Teller recanting the tale to his audience. It was a great challenge to work with these fabrics – leather, chamois and fur, and required me to do a lot of research not only into the best way to work with these fabrics, but also into the traditional techniques and patterns that represented the Blackfoot Tribe specifically, as I was keen to treat this project as sensitively as I could. Ultimately I am extremely pleased with the final product.
