Snow White Dress

This costume was one of my first forays into the world of Disney Princess costuming. I was extremely fussy about the fabrics, keen to have a warm gold coloured lace and elegant silk lining for the skirt, and a luxurious silk velvet fabric for the bodice. I also pushed my skills to create the pattern for the classic Snow White sleeves, and the Elizabethan style standing collar. To achieve the standing effect, I used a combination of mod podge, acetate, lace fabric and trims, and steel boning. This costume opened the doors to my love of creating detailed costumes in my own style using heavily textured fabrics.
