Snufkin

After working with Charlie on their Qi Rong cosplay last year, they came back for a smaller scale commission inspired by Snufkin from the Moomins. The purpose of this cosplay was to be simple and comfortable, so we chose to only make the dress and hat from scratch, and used existing trousers which were cut and torn along the hem to match the reference art.

At the time of making this, I had several big scale projects on the go, so it was fun to work on something a bit more pared back using a simple sturdy cotton and some basic breaking-down techniques - I considered it a bit of a palette cleanser between my larger jobs. The hat was created by my lovely friend at Bad Panda Designs, using felt, paint, foam and faux flowers.
